Shot by shot Storyboard
Shot by shot of the opening 5 minute sequence of Maltese Falcon:
By storyboarding this scene, we are able to gather a clearer grasp of the shot sequences, editing of the clips and the order of the shots for when we come to create our own replica of the scene.
It has also helped me to notice other items of costume and make-up i hadn't noticed before on first glance.
Detail on my Roles
Acting role (Effie) -
Effie is Spade's secretary. A lanky, brown eyed, sunburned girl of twenty-two or three, with a shiny boyish face, bright, direct, unspoiled.
Costume needed-
Blonde bob haircut,
grey skirt and blazer, brooch.
Hair and Make-up artist role-
Effie-
(Make-up) pale skin, no eyeliner, mascara may be used, light eye shadow. (Natural look)
(Hair Style) Short blonde hair, bob style haircut, fringe pinned back and hair curled slightly.
Mrs Wonderly-
(Make-up) nude lipstick, mascara, pale skin, light eye shadow (Natural look)
(Hair style) Brown hair, Pinned into a bun.
Spade-
(Hair Style) jelled back, with a side parting.
Archer-
(Hair Style) Jelled back.
Costume design role-
Mrs Wonderly:
White shirt, grey blazer, black hat with transparent netting covering the face, fur shaul, and grey skirt.
Spade:
White shirt, grey blazer, grey trousers, and a black tie.
Archer:
White shirt, grey blazer, grey trousers, grey waist jacket, grey hat, white clip on flower, white pocket square, and a black tie.
Editing-
Take part in the editing of colour, order of the chosen clips taken, sound and layout of our sequence.

Maltese Falcon Sequence
In the Opening sequence to Maltese Falcon we see Miss Wonderly asking two detectives;Spade and Archer, about finding her sister in the city of San Fransico, who has ran away with a man. Panicking as she needs to find her before the first of the month when her parents return home.
